Matching you to the care you need — available to all registered UCLA students.
What is STAR?
STAR is the Stress and Resilience program developed through the collaboration of a number of units at UCLA who have the shared interest in your mental health. We designed this program to serve as a referral source and safety net for your mental health care needs ranging from prevention services to crisis response. For other UCLA resources, visit Be Well Bruin.
What are the steps to sign up?
- Create a STAR login.
- Share basic information about yourself.
- Review more details about the program, and decide whether you want to try it out.
- Take about 5 minutes to complete the STAR Wellness Check and find out if you have symptoms consistent with anxiety or depression.
What happens after I take the STAR Wellness Check?
You will immediately receive your personalized results and corresponding recommendations. These recommendations may include prevention services, digital mental health program (STAND Toolkit) with optional coaching or a referral for clinical services including crisis response services.
If you elect to use one of the recommended services, you will receive monthly reminders to check in and see how you are doing. And if you choose not to take advantage of the recommended services, you still will be able to opt-in to receive monthly reminders to use the STAR Wellness Check.
More about STAR
The STAR Program represents an adaptation of the STAND system of care and is championed by the Depression Grand Challenge, Counseling and Psychological Services, Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center, RISE Center and the David Geffen School of Medicine Behavioral Health Center. If you are not a UCLA student, or you would like access to digital lessons without completing the STAR Wellness Check, you may wish to view the STAND Tips or sign up for STAND for All instead.
